यह अंधकार, यह तिमिर घना, यह राह अनजानी, अपरिचित, यह मेरा नीरव सूनापन, यह मेरी पीड़ा अविदित! मेरे जीवन की यही कथा, यह गाथा एक अकेलेपन की, जहाँ न कोई संगी-साथी, जहाँ न कोई राह दिखाने वाला! किन्तु, इस सघन अँधेरे में भी, प्रज्ज्वलित है एक दीपक, जो जलता है निरंतर, देता है मुझे जीवन की किरण!

English Translation

This darkness, this dense gloom, This path unknown, unfamiliar, This my silent solitude, This my unexpressed pain! This is the tale of my life, A saga of loneliness, Where there is no companion, Where there is no guide to show the way! But even in this deep darkness, A lamp is lit, Which burns continuously, Giving me the ray of life!
