मेरे नगपति! मेरे विशाल! साकार, दिव्य, गौरव विराट! पौरुष के पुंजीभूत ज्वाल! मेरी जननी के हिम-किरीट! मेरे भारत के दिव्य भाल! मेरे नगपति! मेरे विशाल! युग-युग अजेय, निर्बन्ध, मुक्त, युग-युग गर्वोन्नत, नित महान, निस्सीम व्योम में तान रहा, युग-युग से कौन यह दैन्य? कैसी अखंड यह चिर समाधि? यतिवर! कैसा यह अमर ध्यान? तू महाशून्य में खोज रहा किस जटिल समस्या का निदान?

My lord of mountains! My mighty one! Embodied, divine, glorious, vast! A concentrated flame of valor! O icy crown of my motherland! O divine forehead of my India! My lord of mountains! My mighty one! Unconquerable for ages, unbound, free, Proud and ever-great through ages, Stretching into the boundless sky, For ages, what is this humility? What is this unbroken, eternal meditation?
