हम कौन थे, क्या हो गए हैं, और क्या होंगे अभी? आओ, विचारें आज मिलकर, ये समस्याएँ सभी। यह सच है, अपनी स्वतंत्रता, हुई परतन्त्रता कभी। पर हम ने ही अपने हाथों, करी थी अपनी कमी। प्रभु के लिए नहीं तो निज के लिए, पर यह हमें करना ही था। अनीति और अन्याय के विरुद्ध, संग्राम हमें लड़ना ही था। यह भारत की पावन भूमि है, इसका कण-कण है महान। ज्ञान और विज्ञान का उद्गम, यहाँ होता था प्रातःकाल। विश्वगुरु थे हम कभी, था जग में हमारा नाम। अब जागें, उठें और बढ़ें हम, फिर से करें यह काम।

English Translation

Who were we, what have we become, and what will we be now? Come, let us all together ponder these problems. It is true, our freedom, once became subjugation. But we ourselves, with our own hands, created our shortcomings. If not for God, then for ourselves, but this we had to do. Against injustice and wrong, we had to fight this battle. This is the sacred land of India, every particle of it is great. The origin of knowledge and science, here it dawned every morning. We were once a world teacher, our name was known throughout the world. Now let us awaken, rise and advance, and do this work again.
